New iPad Ads – We’ll always

We’ll Always

Apple just launch their new iPad TV ads – We’ll Always. Reminding us iPad have changed the way we use our computers, laptops and tablet.

So how have iPad change your workflow?

Pulled off from the narration in the ads –

We’ll never stop sharing our memories…or getting lost in a good book. We’ll always cook dinner and cheer for our favorite team. We’ll still go to meetings, make home movies, and learn new things. But how we do all this will never be the same.

Apple is tracking our location via iPhone, but why? [Video]

It is now confirmed that Apple is storing location informations of every iPhone users. Peter Warden and Alasdair Allan have found out that iOS have a database storing information of the location of iPhone and is taking a snap of the location almost every minute.

The picture which you have seen on top, is the location information store by iPhone from one of the creator of iPhoneTracker, who have create an application to let you import the location data that your iPhone is storing and displaying in a map format.

I have downloaded the software, and have load the map with my location information, and it is just pure amazing. It really did record down my whole Taiwan Trip on Oct 2010 and the more recent US trip on March 2011

Taiwan Trip 2010:

My recent US Trip on March 2011:

Interesting yeah? I have no idea, Apple can map my journey so well, it can almost be used as a proof if I ever have to show my location at any point of time. But why is Apple doing this? All this location information did not expire after almost 1 year. Why do Apple need to keep location information of their users for such a long time?

Apple have not gave us any information or reply on this issue.

  • New Folder UI, when you create folder, it is now full screen(Which I don’t really like)
  • Spotlight search in the tasking switching expose screen
  • Facebook Integration, if you look closely at the 2nd video, there is a Facebook setting.

We will miss you, iPod Clickwheel! [Video]

We will definitely miss the days where we need to click and turn Apple’s iPod Clickwheel. The Clickwheel is one of the few Apple’s innovation for navigating menu without mouse, although mouse was kind of invented by Apple too.

With the launch of 5th Generation iPod Nano, clickwheel is now removed from new generation iPod Nano, and is only available on iPod Classic which has not been refresh this year. iPod Nano’s clickwheel has been replaced by a touch screen and is now the popular iPod Nano Watch!

Nevertheless Clickwheel still have its own fan base, so Matt and Keith from Matt’s Macintosh have created this short youtube video to remind us how great clickwheel have served us for the past few years and how it sounds like when you turn the wheel!

Song A Day: Steve Jobs & iPhone 4 Antenna!

Song a Day Song Writer Jonathan Mann, is a Apple fan boy like me! He have written a song for iPhone 4 Antenna Issue and is being played on the Apple iPhone 4 Press Event. The attitude on the song sounds like Steve Jobs, If you don’t like iPhone 4, bring it back!

Song for iPhone 4 Antenna Issues

Here’s the Lyrics:

there’s an awful lot of hoopla
around the iphone 4 anttenna
when you grip it with the death grip
and you’re call slips away

the media loves a failure
in a string of success
the facts won’t ever matter
if they can make bigger messes

sure i can make it happen
but in terms of daily usage
i’ve yet to drop a call
so this whole damn thing is stupid

and you can call me a fanboy
i’ve been called worse things
but gizmodo just ridiculous
pulling their anti-apple strings

you bought a stolen prototype
get over it and move on
or hey even better
let’s all sing this song

If you don’t want an iphone 4, don’t buy it

if you bought one and you don’t like it, bring it back!

Song for Steve Jobs

Jonanthan Mann, have written another song, and it is for Steve Jobs!

Lyrics:

as business men go he is a legend
surviving exile returning as king
if that sounds like moses it’s no accident
the cult of macintosh is a religion
we bow down to products that make us weep
the beauty of simplicity the shepard and his sheep
we defend all attackers with fervent zeal
in each operating system some new truth is revealed

his violent temper, his strict beliefs
his singular vision make him adored
we try our best as we make our way
through the pipeline of products we can’t afford
in his guarded temple there’s a beating drum
and it’s made of glass and of aluminum
on every surface a mysterious brew
a reflection of desire is forged anew

when he speaks we all listen
lovers and haters
the excitement that i feel when he walks out on stage
it’s not just what he’s revealing but the way he reveals it too

Check out his Song a Day Blog here, he is quite cool!

YouTube HTML 5 Web App

Google have just launched their new YouTube Web App in HTML 5. This will ensure that any mobile phone including Apple iPhone will be able to access YouTube on their mobile, also showing Google’s support on HTML 5 as their web platform. We have seen Google’s Android supporting Flash, but the performance is not that optimized yet. So with the new YouTube HTML 5 Web App, it is going to be benefiting both iPhone and other mobile users.

To Add YouTube Web App to your Home Screen for iPhone, go to YouTube.com on your mobile safari, press the ‘+’ button on the bottom of the Mobile Safari and select “Add This to Home Screen”

Overall the feel of the YouTube Web App is very good, it is as smooth as the YouTube App that we have on our iPhone, it is even better as I feel that it will be more up to date. Search and browsing of the YouTube is very easy, you can search for video or browse the most popular video.

The video played very smoothly and honesty, I like the Web App more than the native YouTube App in iPhone, so please “download” this app! You won’t regret, you will enjoy your youtube experience more on iPhone or any other smartphone around.

Apple Google War into Video Editing, iMovie and Youtube Video Editor

Google once again have entered the same business with Apple, it is so hard to ignore the fact that the 2 computing giants are competing in almost every fields of business! From Phones, Tablet/Slate, Operating System, TV Devices to now iMovie for iPhone with Youtube’s Video Editor.

Youtube Video Editor can be access via browser, no installation nor programs needed. You can simply go to youtube video editor and drag and drop any video you have uploaded to your Youtube Account. In the Video Editor, you will see thumbnails of the videos in your account, and you can trim those videos with the scissors icon.

Although the YouTube Video Editor is very primitive compare to iMovie, or even iMovie for iPhone, but it is the first step for Google in the video editing business. Honestly, looking at YouTube Video Editor seriously reminds me of Window’s Movie Maker. [YouTube]
