iPad 2 Event on March 2 confirmed by Apple

iPad 2 Event on March 2 confirmed by Apple

Apple has officially sent out invites to media for a event on next Wednesday March 2nd 2011. Looking at the graphic of the invite, it is very easy for us to tell that it will involve our loved iPad. It is time for their refresh and I’m sure iPad 2 will be the main focus on the event. Although I feel that other announcement will be there too as the tag line is ” Come see what 2011 will be the year of”. Of course 2011 is already been known the as the tablet year as started by Apple by launching iPad in 2010.

We might be seeing more Lion OS preview as Apple’s recent years of strategy is let developers and users see what is coming in the very near futures, especially to prep them for the Apps.

The event will be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am. So stay tuned with us for more updates on the event!

Angry Birds – A real hit on iOS, Mac and Android [Video]

Angry Birds has really raise up and become the best selling iOS games, top downloaded App on Mac App Store, and a hit on Android phones. Why is it so successful? Because it is so fun, fast to load, easy to learn and hard to play! I’m sure lots of you guys have struggled for the last few stages of the games.

Rovio is now developing Angry Birds for Valentine’s Day, so stay tuned!

Wanna know more about Angry Birds? Check out this interview Video:

Mac App Store is now Open!

Yes! The Apple’s Mac App Store is finally up! If you haven’t do your System Update, go to Your Apple Icon, click on Software Updates, and you will be able to get Mac App Store installed. Of course, Apple pushed Mac App Store as a Software Update on the OS Level, so you will need to do a reboot after installation.

After you are done, I’m sure you will be spending hours in the store, looking for good free apps, and great paid apps yeah? Currently Angry Birds is already the top paid App in Mac App Store. I’m really wondering… Why people still wanna play Angry Birds on their Mac when they already have iPhone and iPad! Nevertheless, it is now the top app.

The top free app on Mac App Store is Twitter currently. It looks and feel exactly like Tweetie,  so you all will be able to download and install it now with ease.

Overall, I had a great first-hand experience with Mac App Store, it is the usual clean, fast and easy to navigate app store experience. I’m able to quickly download games, twitter and many other apps on it and it is really the easiest way to install App on Mac. And Honestly, it will be the easiest way to spend lots of money on them!

There are quite a large collection of apps/software in there, like Evernote, Apple’s iWorks and iLife, lots of games that we are very familiar, for eg Flight Control HD, Tori Tori and Angry Birds.

So what are you waiting for? Update your Mac now and get App Store running, and start spend some money! Haha!

Why I think 7 Inch iPad is relevant

iPad 2G coming early year 2011

Its almost end of 2010, and iPad will be refreshing by early next year as Apple normally refresh their products yearly. This includes iPhone, iMac, Macbooks, thus I treat it that iPad will be refreshing yearly too. iPad has been very successfully, it attracts alot of new users, especially older or younger generation.

What to expect for iPad 2G?

So what can we expect for the new iPad? On the safe side, I’m sure iPad 2G will have at least a front facing camera for FaceTime. I’m still thinking if there is any reasons to put a rear facing camera for iPad, as I don’t see any use case for it. Apple has been adding camera to almost all their products which includes iPhone, iPod Touch and Macs, thus iPad will be the last in line to have FaceTime.

iPad 2G Better Screen, longer battery life and weigh less?

iPad 2G should a better resolution screen, Retina should be on the way, although it will cost more, but I feel that A4 Processor should be still good enough to power iPad 2G, thus overall manufacturing iPad 2G should be cheaper, except Retina Display and maybe even more powerful battery to extend iPad’s battery life even more. iPad has been getting around 7-10hours of battery life depending on how you use it, it is very impressive, but no one will complain if iPad 2G get even better battery life.

But I feel is that iPad should be abit smaller, maybe the size of 7inch, so holding it is easier, and I can use 2 thumbs to type when I hold it in a portrait mode. The current iPad is slightly too big for Asian’s hands when I’m holding iPad, typing with my thumbs is still ok, but it will be more comfortable if it is slightly smaller. Smaller means lighter right? I feel that the current iPad is really abit too heavy for anyone to hold up for more than 15minutes. If Apple can bring the weight of it to less than 500gram, it will be much better compare to current 0.6-0.7kg.

So are we going to see what I hope iPad can be for generation 2? Let’s wait for it to come out, and hope that we will all be surprise with what is coming!
