WorldCard Mobile – You will never need to keep business cards anymore

I don’t know about you guys, but I personally hate business cards. Why? Because I can never seem to find them when I need them and typing in email address and phone number to my phone is always a task that I hate. If you guys hate carrying business name cards that your clients have given you, then you will need WorldCard Mobile

Very accurate and quick

I have given it a try and I found it surprisingly  accurate! I have tested on 2 business name cards that I have got from my clients (I worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant as my day job) and both of the cards are recognized and stored into my contacts with no errors.

It is pretty easy to use, just open up the app, tap on camera button, take a picture of the name card and let it recognize the text on the card. WorldCard Mobile for iPhone is pretty smart, it will recognize name, emails, phone numbers, address, company and department with no issue. Very very useful for lazy people like me who always don’t key in the full information and regret later on.

If you are worried that the app’s recognition  might not be prefect (I agree that nothing is perfect), WorldCard Mobile have a Card holder area in the app, where all the Name Cards that you have scanned will be kept there, with the picture taken. Thus even if the recognition software might have mistake, you will at least still have the picture of the name card available.

Overall feeling of WorldCard Mobile

I love this app, to be able to snap a photo of the name card, and let the app the do rest, is awesome for me. The app is pretty accurate and make little mistake. Thus I will highly recommend this app for all who always get name cards during meetings but always misplace them. If you have tons of name cards, you will be able to enter all of them into this app in no time.

The only factor I dislike about this app is the price. It is $6.99, slightly steep from my point of view, but overall a very useful app even for this price point.

Check WorldCard Mobile at the Apple’s App Store now!

iReview: Fabrix Cases Booklet Case for iPad

Last week, I have received a case sent by Fabrix Cases, once again, the envelope that the Booklet Case is in excites me. This is what I feel is special about Fabrix Cases, they send you their case in beautiful envelope and makes you wanna open it asap!

So what is Booklet Cases and how is it different from the Fabrix Cases Magic Sleeve for iPad?

  • Booklet Case is handcrafted using leather-like premium grade material, what is cool it is stitched together.
  • The flips closed tightly as there are ultra thin magnets around the flips.
  • The case has been reinforced with steel plates to prevent warping of the inner frame, so it will last for a very long time.
  • Anti-slip suede on the underframe to prevent iPad from sliding out.
  • Pockets to hold name cards.
  • Cutout holes for ports and controls

So what is different between Booklet and Magic Sleeve? I can say Booklet looks more professional, it looks almost like a diary or a notebook that you can bring in for meeting. It is more durable and the Anti-Slip Suede is really super tight, I almost have issue pulling out. Holding the iPad with the Booklet Case feels very good.

Booklet Case for iPad from Fabrix Case is definately a must-buy if you are working and would like to bring your iPad to meeting, not only it looks pro, it have namecards sleeve where you can keep your name cards if you ever need to give out.

You can get Booklet Case for USD$59.90 at and they are running a promotion where you can get 10% off your purchase of USD$50 and above. Valid till 31th Oct 2010.

Queues Still Long for iPhone 4

3 days after launch of iPhone 4, the slimmest SmartPhone out in the market, people are still queuing outside of Apple Store and AT&T shops to get theirs.

iPhone 4 is really the most successfully product launch and devices sold ever! 1.7millions iPhone 4 are sold just within 3 days of launch, and they are only sold in 5 countries! 600,000 pre-orders is also one of the most pre-ordered device ever in history!

So… what is so special about iPhone 4 that it can attract so many people to queue outside of store just to get it? What is so good in it? I’m sure you all have seen lots of reviews, but I think the review of Andy Ihnatko is one of the most honest and good.

Radium: The Simplest and Easiest to use Internet Radio

If you want to listen to Radio, and you want to listen Internet Radio from your Mac, you will need Radium! Radium by far is what we feel as the simplest and easiest to use Internet Radio Application.

Most of the time, we get our radio fix from website of Radio Stations like Class 95FM, but it is always a pain to bookmark radio station, and switching from webpages to webpages when you wish to change channels. I was different once I got hold of Radium from Catpigstudio.

After installation, Radium sits quietly on your Menu Bar, and is always accessible to you.

When you Click on Radium’s Icon on Menu Bar, you will be able to see  a few options, like Add all Channels, Add Channels Manually, Import Channel From Stream URL and Quit.

As the options have suggested, you can add all the channels in Radium’s Network List, or you can add channel manually or if you know the Stream URL, you can add it in if it is not found on Radium’s Network List already.

As you might have notice, Radium’s Menu is very simple, so how do I select my preference and settings? You can access the Settings by clicking on the gear icon beside Radium’s Search Bar. From there you can select bandwidth’s quality or go to preference where you will have more settings you can adjust.

In the General Preference Tab, you can select options like last-played channel on startup/wake, which I think is a very neat feature, because I will always have my favorite channel playing when I boot up my mac in the morning! Not only that, you can also use Apple’s Shortcut/Multimedia Keys to access Radium.

One of the neatest feature that Radium have is the large collection of Internet Radio Network List! I’m sure lots of effort was spent in collecting this list of network, so users can just find their stations out of the box. It is quite a complex list, so try searching, you will be surprise your radio station might already be in there.

If your radio station is not in there, you can also add it manually in Radium, go to ‘Radium Preference‘, then to ‘Radio Network‘, click on the ‘+‘ icon. You will be prompt with the screen below where you can add your station’s information!

Adding Network is easy, but actually going to find your Radio Station Information is very difficult. But luckily Radium’s Network List is quite comprehensive.

Overall I feel Radium is really a very easy to use app for listening to internet radio, you just have to install and start listening without changing much settings or spend time finding your favorite radio station’s details. Radium’s Spotlight search is very useful, if you like switching from channels to channels.

Start enjoy the experience of listening to internet radio with radium for $16, you can find Radium here.  Oh ya! Radium is having a promotion at mupromo where you can get Radium 15% off @ 13.60, so check out MuPromo.
