Lines at WWDC 2011 [Video]

Guys from 9to5mac filmed the lines at WWDC 2011. Yes at this time, they are queuing over the night for WWDC. I don’t remember seeing queues outside WWDC 2010, so I’m sure developers can’t wait for iOS 5 and Lion to be out!
No confirmation from Apple what will iCloud cover, but I’m sure we see lots of syncing, not just Macs, but iOS devices.

We will be blogging live for WWDC 2011. Stay tuned with us. We also can’t wait for WWDC 2011 to come!

Magic on iPad 2 [Video]

Steve Jobs said iPad is a magical device, it really is. You don’t believe? Check out the below video by simon. Although he is not the first person who have created magic shows with iPad, but he really fully utilized iOS’s features.

Although the video is named Exclusive Preview on iOS 5, but it ain’t iOS 5. It is just illusions, and but he used a very good name that attracted lots of traffic! Nevertheless, his tricks are very well done, and it covers alot of iOS’s features like FaceTime, Apps rotations and more.

So check out his video and let me know what you think.

Steve Jobs will be at WWDC annoucing iCloud, iOS 5 and Lion on June 6

Steve Jobs announcing iCloud in WWDC 2011

Apple has just announced that their CEO, Steve Jobs will be taking the stage to talk about their new iCloud Service, iOS 5 and Mac OS Lion. Below is what they have sent to developers:

Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.

Pretty packed WWDC 2011 for Apple. But why did Apple announce to the whole world about iCloud just a few days away from WWDC? Apple is always secretive and like to give us surprises. So are we going to get even more surprises from Apple?

Predication for Apple’s WWDC 2011

iCloud will be Apple’s newest cloud service, which might comprise of iTunes Cloud Streaming, iDisk(or a possible rename?), Cloud App Syncing, Monthly iTunes music Subscription. Apple has been building this massive Datacenter, which will most likely be supporting iCloud. So with such a huge cloud datacenter, it will not just be iTunes, I have a feeling it will be much more.

  • Monthly Music Subscription – Users will be able to pay a monthly fee and have music as all-you-can-listen package
  • iTunes Cloud Streaming – Users’ existing music will be automatically upload to the iTunes Cloud
  • iDisk fully integrated in Mac and iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. So files can just be transfer via iCloud without going through 3rd party apps
  • App syncing – All Apps that users purchase will be stored in the cloud, but not only that. All the save games data, information will be stored in cloud thus be able to sync up throughout all the devices sign in with the same account

Above are just some prediction, and hopefully we get even more surprises from Apple! Stay Tuned and we will be reporting about WWDC 2011.

Targus iPad 2 Rotating Case

Targus iPad 2 Rotating Case/Stand

Targus came out with quite a innovative iPad 2 Case, which allow you to hold up your iPad 2 not just in Landscape mode, but also in Portrait mode. This is something that we have not seen much on other available case for iPad 2.

But why Portrait? I’m thinking there are a few use cases that might be very useful in portrait mode. For example if you doing cooking, and your Cook Book PDF is in Portrait, it is easy to read if your iPad 2 is standing up in a portrait mode. How about drawing a portrait drawing?  Equally useful.

Expensive, but Flexible

Of course the best thing is Targus’s Rotating iPad 2 Case, can be used in both mode, thus you gain the flexibilty in using your beloved iPad 2. So what’s bad? What I feel is the price tag, at SGD$99.90, it is quite a expensive iPad case.If it cheaper, I will definitely recommend this iPad 2 Case due to the flexibility.

Product Specifications

Targus® 360° Rotating Stand & Case for iPad®2 (THZ045AP)

Interior Dimensions: 24.1 x 0.9 x 18.6 cm

Weight: 1 llb

If you are interested in getting this iPad 2 case, you can Targus Boutique at Funan Center, or many other Apple resellers in Singapore. Visit Targus for more information.

You might be able to make calls on jailbroken iPad 3G soon [Video]

Soon you might be able to make calls on your jailbroken iPad 3G, all thanks to iPhoneIslam. They have come out with a new hack called PhoneItiPad. It is reported that it might be in the Cydia App Store even before WWDC, which will be on 6 June 2011.

So how does it works? It works exactly like an iPhone, everything. So just imagine your iPhone now have a 9.7 inch screen and that’s what you will get with this hack. You can not only make phone calls, FaceTime, you can even SMS.  Pretty cool and I’m sure it comes in handy at times.

Check out the demo video of it:

What we might see in Apple’s WWDC2011

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference 2011 is just round the corner. Apple for the past few WWDC has been very focus on showing and telling the developers what is up and coming for the year. But they also did not forget the consumers, and always take the chance to introduce new products.

So what will we see in this year’s WWDC?

  • iOS 5 – Yes, Finally we will have a preview of what iOS 5 will be. It might be more tabletish, having more multi-tasking features, more features to make use of the screen real estate of iPad.
  • Lion OS – Lion has been one of the main focus for the past 2 conference Apple held. This will be the final one, showing us the final product of what Lion will look like.
  • iPhone 4S – I think iPhone 4S will not ship so soon, because White iPhone 4 just launched not long ago, but who knows Apple might surprise us with a new iPhone
  • Macbook Air – MBA has been a success, and it is close to its refresh period. Thus we might see a Macbook Air with Thunderbolt and Sandy Bridge
  • Mac Pro – Apple recently killed XServe, and Mac Pro is the “replacement”. I’m thinking Apple will redesign Mac Pro to be “mountable” so as to better used in Data Center

Let’s hope we will have a exciting WWDC2011!

Apple repairs damaged devices in Japan Disasters for free!

Remember when Japan was hit with Tsunami, Apple Japan changed their main page to dedicate to the victims and did not display their newly launched iPad 2. Later on they help raise funds through iTunes for Red Cross, let victims charge their iPads and iPhones in the store and even let them surf web with their WiFi and even their Macs in stores.

Lots of respect to Apple Japan in organizing so much for the victims of Japan Disasters, and no they did not stop. Now they are offering free repairs to damaged devices from Apple at no cost for all victims of the Tsunami. Honestly this news touched my heart and I love them even more for the effort that they put in.

Enlarge your iPad’s disk space with Seagate’s GoFlex Satellite

Segate GoFlex Satellite wireless storage for iOS devices!

Seagate is launching a brand new range of GoFlex called Satellite, a battery powered mobile hard drive with Wi-Fi which you can connect up with your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. It is reported that the disk’s standby battery life can last up to 25 hours or 4 hours of continuous video streaming. What’s cool is that you can still hook up your hard disk via USB 3.0 incase the battery went flat.

Apple’s accessories currently do not really support USB 3.0, although you can still connect via USB 2.0. But imagine now you have a 500GB hard disk that you can bring around with you, copying files, videos, music and photos from laptops to it. When you want to watch video or listen to music, you can just stream it from your portable hard disk via Wi-Fi. To be honest, it is very cool and useful.

Read up more of it over at Seagate
