Batman’s Bat Car uses iPad as central dashboard! [Video]

This is pretty cool, real life Batman’s turbine powered Batmobile. Casey Putsch have built a real Bat Car and it is powered by just Turbine, which is supposedly how Batman in Comic powered his car. Suprisely, the central dashboard and GPS is actually Apple’s iPad. It will be cool if Batman really uses just iPad for his Batmobile

Check out this cool car in the video below:

Girl with an iPad head walking down the street [Video]

iPad Head Girl on New York Street

What will be your reaction when you see an iPad head girl walking down the street? I would be surprised like the guys in the video. Of course, this is Cosmo for guy’s publicity, as they launch their new iPad App. You will realize it at the end of the video, where a guy sat infront of the lady and browsed the magazine app on her face.

What is cool is that the girl is actually holding a camera inside her purse, which live feed to a pair of video glasses that she was wearing, enabling her to walk without issue. Else I’m sure she will be banging to lamp posts or trees. Pretty neat idea. Do check out the video.

iCloud Web App on Beta now! [Video]

iCloud.com now on Beta!

Apple announced a new cloud service – iCloud, which will allow iOS and Mac users to be able to share, sync and upload files to iCloud.com. This service will not be just a cloud storage service like dropbox or box.net. But it will be integrated down to OS level on iOS devices to ensure a smooth syncing experience.

But Apple did not stop there, Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Find my iPhone and iWorks will have their own respective Web Apps. I have just tried some of them for awhile, and man I tell you it is very cool. Honestly, I am not able to tell this is web app, it feels and looks just like iPad Apps. I am really amazed by how Apple developed their web app. Don’t believe? Check out this video below:

New iPad Ads – We’ll always

We’ll Always

Apple just launch their new iPad TV ads – We’ll Always. Reminding us iPad have changed the way we use our computers, laptops and tablet.

So how have iPad change your workflow?

Pulled off from the narration in the ads –

We’ll never stop sharing our memories…or getting lost in a good book. We’ll always cook dinner and cheer for our favorite team. We’ll still go to meetings, make home movies, and learn new things. But how we do all this will never be the same.

Facebook for iPad leaked!

One of the most important App that is still missing on iPad till today is Facebook App. Currently, we can only get Facebook for iPhone/iPod Touch, but there is no native app for iPad. Although u can say that you will still have a very nice browsing experience on mobile Safari on iPad, but nothing can beat the customization and viewing experience on an native App.

Facebook for iPad is finally coming to App Store soon?

MG Siegler from TechCrunch actually found out that Facebook for iPad might be launch very soon, but I kid you not, an executable Facebook for iPad is already on your Facebook App for iPhone! So if that’s the case, then it might be a universe app for Facebook.

Overall the view of the App seems very clean and cool, I already love the UI of the App even before using. Let’s hope that we won’t have to wait too long for it to be launch, I’m kind of tired of using 3rd party apps which don’t really run as good as the one that I got on my iPhone.

More pictures below, or you can visit TechCrunch for all the screenshot of the app.

New Mac Mini faster but dropped optical drive

Together with the launch of Mac OS X Lion, 2 new Apple hardware were refreshed too. Mac Mini and Macbook Air. Of course Macbook Air have gotten most of the limelight being the newest addition to the Mac Family line. Many will think that Macbook Air will be the future of laptops, and I totally agree. But will Mac Mini be the future of Mac Xserve?

Future of Mac Mini

The new Mac Mini 2011 has something missing, yes the optical drive. No more optical drive for Mac Mini from now onwards. Mac Mini has never been in spotlight of Mac family line, due to the lack of everything, no screen, no keyboards, no mouse no nothing comes together with Mac Mini. But this is the kind of machine you would like to be siting in your house. Quietly working to keep up with the iMacs, Macbook Airs, Macbook Pros, iPad and iPhone in your household. It will be your house’s Xserve if you want to put it in this way.

What is needed in a home server?

So what is needed as a home server?

  • Low power, but powerful enough for household.
  • Occupy very little space, but has the connections needed.
  • All in one little machine, able to backup, serve music and video to home entertainment center
  • Lots of space for backups or to serve files
  • Quiet

And yes, 2011 Mac Mini have all of it. Now having optical drive removed for all Mac Minis, you will have 1 extra slot for additional Hard disk.

Haven you gotten the new Mac Mini 2011? Tell us what you feel about it!

Multiple users account on your iPad with this hack [Video]

iPad is not a laptop/desktop replacement, but alot of iPad users are really using their main machine lesser and lesser. Of course it is due to the snappy iPad, fun Apps and it is just so simple.

Family iPad? How to manage?

I recently bought my mom an iPad 2, and she is loving it. Not only loving it, but she is already a gamer! So one of the issues in iPad is that although it is kind of a family iPad, thus everyone is sharing it. But it doesn’t not have any account to differentiate the users.

iUsers – Ability to add users to iPad!

For example, I like to read on flipboard, iBooks, tweet and check my emails. But my mom do light gaming, Facebook and watch video. So one of the problem is I can’t customize the home screen according to my liking.  Not anymore. Pedro just release a new cydia hack for jailbroken iPad users – iUsers. You can now have users account on your iPad just like any Mac or PC.

Pretty cool yeah? Do check out the demo video below and let me know what you think about it?

Apple TV is slowly becoming a serious hobby for Apple

Steve Jobs used to say that Apple TV is a hobby for him. Something that he is still exploring, something there will not make him big bucks if you want to put it in a business sense. But I feel that Apple is slowly treating Apple TV  as a serious hobby, not just a hobby.

Reasons why Apple TV is a serious hobby now:

  1. Mirroring/AirPlay – iPhone and iPad has been 2 very successful product in recent years, and I think almost every house hold should at least have an iPad or iPhone. Having the ability to mirror whatever that is on your iPhone or iPad is going to be a big deal. Imagine the shows that you watch during your bus ride, or the photo you took on your way home. You can just flash it on the big screen TV you have in your living room!
  2. iTunes rental – Having the ability to rent any movie on your crouch is a very temping thing to have on your TV. You have that on your Apple TV
  3. Netflix – Although Netflix is only available in US now.
  4. Bluetooth support – Although it has yet to be announced, but having bluetooth supports, means you will be able to hook up keyboard and mouse/trackpad. You might be able to use Apple TV as a browser in future.
  5. FaceTime HD Support via iPad/iPhone – Guys over at 9to5mac and TiPb did a FaceTime and AirPlay it over to their big screen TV. How awesome is that?
  6. Price – Apple TV pricing at just USD$99 is a impulse buy product, although the features and function it has now are limited, but for just $99. You now can stream movies, rent drama series, see photo from your iPhone and continue the show you are watching on your iPad on your big screen TV. It is a must have product!

I’m very excited for the coming Apple TV generation 3, I’m sure it will support 1080p and who knows what will be install for us!

DC Comics to launch their new series on iPad together with Traditional Comic Books

This is something we have never seen before. Comic Publishers have now recognize the importance of new media, like iPad. Thus DC Comics are going to launch their new comic series on iPad together with traditional comic books. Yes, you will be able to download the copy of the comics on your iPad the very same day the books are released.

This will not only bring new readers from different countries who might not be able to get hold of the comic books as early the guys in US. It will most likely bring in younger generation of comic readers as it will be much easier to purchase a comic books on iPad rather than going down to the store.

I’m quite excited as this is the first time Comic publisher recognize how important it is to have their presence on iPad, and I’m sure more and more publishers will do that too.
