Retina Macbook Pro Can Power 4 Display

Retina Macbook Pro is really a powerhouse laptop. Tons of very good review on the performance and incredible display, this 2012 Retina Macbook Pro can really do replace your home Mac Pro or iMac. Very very good performance for such a thin and light laptop.

4 Display 15 millions of Pixel.

One issue to replace your Mac Pro or iMac is screen real estate, Retina Macbook Pro have a great looking 15 inch Screen, but to many power users it is not enough. Worry no more, this Macbook Pro can power up to 3 other display excluding its own screen. Pretty impossible for a small size laptop like it.

The MacBook Pro pictured is connected to two iMacs running at 2560×1440 over Thunderbolt, with an additional LG monitor connected over HDMI running at 1920×1200. Not only can the MacBook Pro now push nearly 15 million pixels

OWC reports that the MacBook Pro was able to play video simultaneously on all four displays without any lag. Very very cool.

Apple is now buying back old Macs, iPhone and iPad

Green Apple

Apple is one of the greenest tech companies in the world, they are always pushing their product to be as green as possible. Not just making green products, Apple tries to minmum the CO by reduce weight of shipping weight and reducing carbon footprint. They tries to encourage recycling by recycling all Apple products for free.

Reuse and Recycle

But today Apple pushed recycling to the new limit and launches Reuse and Recycle program. Yes, Apple will buy back workable old Apple or non-Apple product back. They will provide free shipping and free packaging for your old Notebook, Desktop, iPad and iPhone! This is a pretty nice service, although you might be able to get better resale price on ebay or other auction sites, but it can not be easier to sell your products back to Apple.

One important note is that all value of your product will be translated to an Apple Gift Card of the same value. Since it is Apple Gift Card, you will be only able to use in Apple Store or buy Apps/music in Apple’s App Store or iTunes.

So if you have any old Apple products or PC, check out Apple’s Reuse and Recycle Program.

$999 iMac 2011 for Education

New iMac for Education

Apple is always supporting Educations by giving discounts to students and teachers. Today Apple launches the new $999 iMac 2011 for education market. This will be a great asset to school as iMac will be the best computer you can get in school’s Computer Lab.

Below are the stats of the new iMac for Education:

  • 21.5 inch Display
  • 3.1GHz Intel Core i3
  • AMD Radeon HD 6750 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 250GB Hard disk
  • Super Drive for Optical
  • Lion OS

It is a pretty neat iMac, having enough horsepower and good amount of screen for work. But I’m pretty surprised why Thunderbolt and just 2GB of RAM. I’m quite sure running virtualization to run Windows should be useful, as some software that school use might still be Windows only.

Nevertheless, hope this Mac will help School purchase more affordable Computers and benefit the students.

2011 iMacs impossible to upgrade your own hard drive

Upgrading parts in iMacs

Upgrading hard drive and ram are never easy on iMac, as iMac is just a power-packed machine with large screen. Thus everything is just packed so tightly and neat. But 2011 iMacs make upgrading Hard disk in your iMac even harder as Apple have change the SATA connector from a 4-pins to a 7-pins. This helps Apple’s firmware to control the fans for the drive temperature, but due to that when you upgrade hard disk yourselve, the disk will spin out of control, as the firmware will not control the fan speed anymore.

So plan your purchase when you are buying your next iMac. 🙂

Google Love Apple! At least their engineers at Google IO

Google Love Apple

Google’s Engineer and Apple’s Macs

Apple just recently took over Google is the top brand in the world. Why? Just look at the engineers at the recent Google I/O, most of the Google’s engineers are using Apple’s Macbook Pro and iMacs! This is just how much Google Love Apple!

Google Engineers love Mac

Look at the above photo, this is the evidence of why we say Google Love Apple! One of the engineer’s sticker said “My other computer is a data center” is pointing to Google’s Cloud, Apps and Chrome?

Want to know how much Google actually love Apple? Check out the next photo, even their display booth are all using Apple’s Products like Macbook Pro, iMac and their LCD Monitor.

iMac 2011 supports 2 external monitor via Thunderbolt ports

If you have read my post on iMac 2011, you would have know that iMac 2011 now have thunderbolt port, and 27 inch have 2 of them! So it means that we can now have 2 external monitor, and have a 3 monitor setup! Pretty cool right? Not only that, iMac 2011 is fast enough to support 3 concurrently playing 1080p video on 3 different monitor. How I wish I can get this 3 monitor setup!

Check out the below video, iMac 2011 27 inch supports 2 external monitor via thunderbolt:

iMac 2011 are fast!

New iMacs are pretty fast! Macworld have done a benchmark on the new iMac 2011 it is faster than all previous iMacs and are almost as fast as Mac Pro 2010. It is just a wonder that you can have such a powerful machine and a 27 inch screen pack together in such a neat package!

Currently there are still no benchmark for SSD Drive yet, I will be very interested to know how much better it will score, as we all know Macbook Air is so much faster just because of SSD. Stay Tuned!

Apple refresh iMac 2011 with quad-core Sandy Bridge, FaceTime HD and Thunderbolt!

iMac 2011 Refresh!

Apple have finally refreshed their iMac line for 2011 with Quad-Core Sandy Bridge Processors, Thunderbolt and FaceTime HD. Of course they also added new AMD Graphics Cards which are reported to be 3 times faster than previous, but the most interesting update is still thunderbolt, and Apple is adding 2 thunderbolt for 27 inch iMac!

So exactly how fast is Thunderbolt? Check out the diagram below:

2 Thunderbolts on 27 inch iMacs!

Thunderbolt is really pretty fast, and although 21.5 iMacs will come with only 1 thunderbolt ports, each port can actually daisy-chain up to 7 devices, which is really impressive. But do note that 27 inch iMacs have 2 thunderbolt ports, which means that you can actually have 14 devices hook up to your iMac!

Of course FaceTime HD is added to all iMacs so you can FaceTime with your fellow iPhone owners or Macbook Pro family. Better graphics cards are added to help in gaming and movie rendering.

What I feel about the upgrades

Overall, I feel it is just an yearly update of processor and graphics, but of course we welcome the newly added Thunderbolt Ports and FaceTime HD! So do check out the new iMac 2011 at Apple.com!

What we will see in iMac 2011? [Prediction]

It is almost time of the year for Apple to refresh their iMac line. So what will we see in the iMac 2011 line?

Some prediction by me:

  • Sandy Bridge CPU for all iMacs
  • i5 for iMac 21.5 inch, i7 default for 27″
  • 8gb ram default for 27 inch iMac
  • 1TB HDD for 21.5inch and 2TB HDD for 27″ iMac as default
  • Better Graphics, might even be nVidia
  • Higher resolution of screen
  • HD FaceTime Camera
  • Thunderbolt for all iMac

Anything else that I have missed out? I really hope SSD to be in 27″ as default, but I highly doubt so.

iPad 2 Review – Fake but Funny [Video]

Ok, It’s a pure joke, but they really put in a lot of effort in doing up this “iPad 2” review, which I think we should give them some credit. Very good imagination I would say and funny.

Exkild is very young, but very talent creative director and actor, Check out the rest of his creation in YouTube, but check out his “iPad 2 Review” first:

Yes, they used an 27″ iMac as the so-called ‘iPad 2″, lots of effect and very cool ideas. Hope you enjoyed the joke.

If you like people making fun of iPad 2, be sure to check out our previous post on funny iPad 2 videos.
