It sounds like they are building iPad on 1994 [Video]

Ideas don’t just come to us overnight. It seems like people have been looking at tablets even during 1994, and what they have been designing sounds very similar to what we have now in our iPad.

Of course we know that Steve Jobs has been wanting to build iPad from the first day he starts his company, but technology is just now there. All computers are just too bulky and no way to pack them into such a slim device like iPad.  But it is just pure amazing that people has been toying around the idea for so long.

Tablet War – iPad vs HP TouchPad vs Xoom vs PlayBook

Tablet War – Aftermath of Smartphone

Tablet War is raging, so this is the aftermath of Smartphone War that Apple started 3 years ago. Apple have launched iPad 1 year ago, and now after 1 year, tons of tablet will be in the market in 2011!

Year 2011 is the Year of Tablet

HP just announced webOS powered TouchPad, Motorola is releasing Xoom(powered by Android) in a few months time, and BlackBerry  has plan to release PlayBook in 2011. Of course, we all know that Apple will be launching iPad 2 very soon, although we don’t have the specs yet, thus the comparison is done with Apple’s 1 year old iPad.

Check out the comparison chart by Engadget:

Honestly, before the looking at the chart, I though that it will be very unfair to compare tablets that have yet to launch with Apple’s iPad which is already 1 year old. But honestly, from a unbiased point of iPad’s hardware specs is not shy of any of the compared tablets, it is almost as powerful. Although the official price of the HP TouchPad, Blackberry PlayBook and Motorola Xoom have not been announced, but the rumored price point are same if not higher than Apple’s iPad.

Let’s wait and see the battle of tablet in time to come. Stayed tuned with UsingApple, and enjoy this war.

Android Honeycomb Tablet from Motorola on the way [Video]

Year 2011 will be the Year of Tablets, as we can see the tablet war slowly raising… With iPad getting 85% of the tablet market, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab catching up, but everyone else is also entering the market in 2011. Palm is working on Topaz with the backing of HP, Blackberry coming up with their PlayBook and now Motorola is also teasing us with Android Honeycomb Tablet. Of course, Apple will not be letting us down, as iPad 2 should be on its way by 2011 too.

Indeed Year 2011 will really be the year of tablet! Let’s take a look at Motorola’s tablet teaser ads:

Apple iPad VS Blackberry Playbook [Video]

Above chart is a summary of how iPad, Playbook, HP Slate and Samsung’s Tab is compared

We have all seen news on Blackberry coming out with their iPad competitor, Playbook, but no one have really seen the actual set of Playbook. Now we have a demo video of Blackberry’s Playbook. What is impressive is the speed of Playbook! iPad is really responsive and fast in rendering website and pages, but it seems like Playbook is trashing iPad in this demo!

Death Grip increase Radiation Output, It happens for Google Nexus One, iPhone and Blackberry 9700

We all know that you can perform ‘Death Grip’ on your iPhone 4, and you reception will drop badly, and you might end up dropping calls. Although this issue is not really happening in countries with good reception like Singapore, but we all though ‘Death Grip’ will only affect reception. The video shown below shows that ‘Death Grip’ not only reduce your phone’s reception strength, it actually makes your phone emits more radiations and might be harmful to your health!

Why does it emits more radiation? When your phone sense that it is losing connection to its nearest cell tower, it will increase radio frequency output to try to get a better signal. It is true for most smartphone out there in the market.

Check out the video below, where the App will show you the radiation level when ‘Death Grip’ is applied on iPhone 4, Google Nexus One and Blackberry 9700.

Apple released 16 July iPhone 4 Press Conference Video

Apple have released their 16 July iPhone 4 Press Conference Video to the web and public! Not only that they have released video of it, they also launched new pages of iPhone 4’s Antenna and the Design and Lab Test.

Apple is very honest to the users, saying that iPhone 4’s Antenna is a physical issue and cannot be solve by Software updates, but they also let everyone know that this issue is not iPhone 4 only issue. This is a issue for lots of smartphone out in the market, not only smartphone, phone with antennas.

Apple giving out Free Case

To solve this antenna issue that got out of hand, Apple have decided to give out iPhone 4 Bumper Case/3rd Party Case to all iPhone 4 users, including those who have already bought one(they will be given full refund). This is a good news to everyone, as I am sure most iPhone users have case or at least wants to buy a case to protect their iPhone.

Although iPhone 4’s Antenna Issue can be most easily seen due the external antenna’s design, many iPhone 4 owners report better call quality and lesser drop calls compare to iPhone 3GS.

Apple’s Antenna Design and Test Labs

Apple also show to the world their state-of-the-art facilities for their Antenna design and test labs. They looks really complex and really impressive. Honestly it reminds me of Professor X’s Cerebro.

Quite similar right? I can say that Apple’s Test Lab really looks very impressive, and hope that they will do a better job on their iPhone 5 and hopefully solve the Antenna Issue, which no Smartphone Manufacturer have solve.
