I don’t know about you guys, but I personally hate business cards. Why? Because I can never seem to find them when I need them and typing in email address and phone number to my phone is always a task that I hate. Very accurate and quick

I have given it a try and I found it surprisingly  accurate! I have tested on 2 business name cards that I have got from my clients (I worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant as my day job) and both of the cards are recognized and stored into my contacts with no errors.

It is pretty easy to use, just open up the app, tap on camera button, take a picture of the name card and let it recognize the text on the card. WorldCard Mobile for iPhone is pretty smart, it will recognize name, emails, phone numbers, address, company and department with no issue. Very very useful for lazy people like me who always don’t key in the full information and regret later on.

If you are worried that the app’s recognition  might not be prefect (I agree that nothing is perfect), WorldCard Mobile have a Card holder area in the app, where all the Name Cards that you have scanned will be kept there, with the picture taken. Thus even if the recognition software might have mistake, you will at least still have the picture of the name card available.

I love this app, to be able to snap a photo of the name card, and let the app the do rest, is awesome for me. The app is pretty accurate and make little mistake. Thus I will highly recommend this app for all who always get name cards during meetings but always misplace them. If you have tons of name cards, you will be able to enter all of them into this app in no time.

The only factor I dislike about this app is the price. It is $6.99, slightly steep from my point of view, but overall a very useful app even for this price point.

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users has been waiting for quite some time for their devices to be jailbroken. As iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are using A5 Chip, thus the jailbreak for iPhone 4 and iPad did not work on it. But wait no longer, Absinthe A5 has arrived! These 2 devices can finally be untethered Jailbroken.

How do I untethered Jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2? Just follow the steps below:

1. Firstly upgrade your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to iOS 5.0.1 and backup your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, if you have not done so.

2. Download Greenposi0n’s Absinthe A5 here (Mac or Windows)

3. Unzip the file

4. Connect your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to your Mac and open up Absinthe A5

5. Click on Jailbreak button and let the wizard do it’s job.

6. After awhile you might see your iPad in restore mode, please do not panic, it is part of the process. Wait for it to complete…

7. Your device will reboot, and after a couple of minutes, you will see the below screen.

8. Unlock your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, and click on the Absinthe icon on it, it might not be on the first page, so search for it.

9. Click on it, and your iPad or iPhone 4S will be rebooted. If you are facing issue, please relaunch the app.

10. You are done after the reboot, enjoy your Jailbroken iPhone 4S or iPad 2!

Apple has sent out invitations to media for an education focused event on 19 January 2012 which will be taking place at Guggenheim Museum New York City. They aren’t hiding from the press, it will be education related.

Thus what we will be seeing from the event will most likely be textbooks available in Apple’s iBook Store. Although it might be not be so interesting for the rest of the world, as there will not be no new product launching, but textbooks coming to iOS will be huge.

This will push iOS devices mainly iPad to be the number one go to for education sector.

This is a Kickstart Project started by Zahra Tashakorinia and Derek Tarnow — two design students from Chicago.

TidyTilt is an earbud cord wrap, multi-position kickstand, and mount for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. TidyTilt takes up less space than any one of these devices – yet does all three things – without adding something extra to carry.

The TidyTilt comes in two parts: a mount that uses a special adhesive to stick to the back of your device, and the kickstand/cover which attaches magnetically. Like the Smart Cover, the kickstand folds up to provide an awesome storage solution for your earbuds when you’re not using them, or to elevate your iPhone for watching movies and showing off your photos.

It is finally here! The long awaited iOS 5.01 untethered Jailbreak is finally launched by dev-team. @pod2g has been telling us that untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 was almost ready a few days ago, and just a few minutes ago, they launched redsn0w 0.9.10b1 for both Mac OSX and Windows.

iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users can finally jailbreak their devices. Here’s the catch, it is for all iDevices other than A5 chip devices, thus iPad 2 and iPhone 4S can’t be untethered jailbroken yet. Sorry guys, you have to wait awhile more.

For all other devices which can be upgrade to iOS 5.01, your device can be jailbroken. They are namely, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3rd Generation and above.

Check out UsingApple iOS 5.01 Untethered Jailbreak steps:

1. Upgrade your devices to iOS 5.01, you can either do it via iTunes or from your iOS Devices’s setting(If you are on iOS 5)
2. Backup your iOS Devices, you can backup via iCloud or your Mac/PC
3. Download redsn0w 0.9.10b5 for Mac OSX or Windows (updated due to iBook fix)
4. Device is connected to your Mac/PC
5. Unzip redsn0w 0.9.10b5 and double click on redsn0w icon

6. Click on Jailbreak button

7. Switch off your Device and click on next.

8. Do the usual DFU Mode action, First hold on Power Button (Corner) for 3 Seconds 
Without releasing the Power Button, Hold on to your Home Button for 10 Seconds
Then release your Power Button, but still holding on to your home Button for 15 Seconds

9. Let redsn0w do its job 

10. Once it is done, Check on Install Cydia checkbox and click on next

11. Let redsn0w do its job again, and you will be able to use your jailbroken iOS Devices in seconds.

12. That’s all! I have just tested it myself on my iPhone 4, it is working fine! Enjoy your jailbreak guys!

Chronic Dev Team is almost done with their very last part of touching up with iOS 5 Jailbreak. It has been close to 2 months since the launch of iOS 5 and iPhone 4S, but till date, only tethered Jailbreak is available.

If you don’t know the difference, tethered Jailbreak means that everytime your iPhone got restarted, you have to connect it to a computer and go through the jailbreak process to boot up the iPhone. Thus untethered Jailbreak is actually very important to most people, as we are worried we won’t be with a computer when our iPhone accidentally needs restart.

Alfred is my favorite App launcher Software on Mac. In short, Alfred works like spotlight, in fact alfred is kind of like a enhanced spotlight. It is much faster and looks much more cleaner than spotlight. Alfred is actually tapping on to spotlight’s database, thus whatever you can search in spotlight, alfred can too, but quicker.

This is one of the most offensive ads ever from Samsung, mocking all who waits in line for the new Apple iPhone 4S. Samsung’s Galaxy S II’s ads not only stated that iPhone 4S’s battery life have issues, same design but they also bashed all Apple fans who queued up overnight for the new iPhone 4S’s launch.

This is one of the most amazing photo I have seen so far in Tech world. HP Chairman of Board Ray Lane is actually a Mac User. Apple is one of the most important competitor of HP’s Business, but HP’s Chairman himself is using Apple’s Macbook Air 13 inch!

I really don’t know what he is trying to convey, but I really can’t believe he even allow this picture to be taken and posted on reuters. At least now we are sure Ray Lane is someone who know what a good computer should look and feel like.
