Retina Macbook Pro Can Power 4 Display

Retina Macbook Pro is really a powerhouse laptop. Tons of very good review on the performance and incredible display, this 2012 Retina Macbook Pro can really do replace your home Mac Pro or iMac. Very very good performance for such a thin and light laptop.

4 Display 15 millions of Pixel.

One issue to replace your Mac Pro or iMac is screen real estate, Retina Macbook Pro have a great looking 15 inch Screen, but to many power users it is not enough. Worry no more, this Macbook Pro can power up to 3 other display excluding its own screen. Pretty impossible for a small size laptop like it.

The MacBook Pro pictured is connected to two iMacs running at 2560×1440 over Thunderbolt, with an additional LG monitor connected over HDMI running at 1920×1200. Not only can the MacBook Pro now push nearly 15 million pixels

OWC reports that the MacBook Pro was able to play video simultaneously on all four displays without any lag. Very very cool.

Turn your iPad into a Macbook Pro

iPad Macbook Pro

If you are a hardcore iPad user who can’t live without iPad, but still prefer physical keyboard to be more efficient and love the form factor of Macbook Pro, you are in luck. Japanese retailer Rakuten have came out with an iPad case + keyboard which like a smaller size Macbook Pro.

All in one Case for iPad

The case contains a built-in Lithium-polymer battery which can charge your iPad, a USB port, mini USB port and a bluetooth keyboard which can be connected to your iPad. Price of it is around USD$75 and is currently only available in Japan. But honestly a case that have battery, bluetooth keyboard, USB and mini USB port, it is a great deal. Plus it looks very nice.

It is built for iPad 2, but it should work fine with the new iPad as phyiscally the difference is small. If you wish to get it, you can check out rakuten.

LaCie’s Thunderbolt Drives available now!

Thunderbolt drive

Finally we are seeing small progress of 3rd party vendor coming out with Thunderbolt accessories. LaCie has come out with their 2big Thunderbolt Series and they are now available! 2big Thunderbolt drives offer speed up to 327MB/s and 676MB/s if you daisy chain 2 or more of them.

Cool looking, but a powerful device

It’s aluminum shells is pretty cool looking and holds either 4TB or 6TB worth of storages. Thus it will be a very good choice for creative professional for photos or videos, or even home users who just wish to have a quick drive with huge storage. It is heat-sink cooled and also in addition, a thermo-regulated fan which will turn off and on depending on the temperature of the drives.

Overall it is a very cool and fast drive for any Mac owners, but they don’t come cheap. 4TB will cost you USD$650 and 6TB will run up to $800.

HP’s Chairman uses Apple Macbook Air

This is one of the most amazing photo I have seen so far in Tech world. HP Chairman of Board Ray Lane is actually a Mac User. Apple is one of the most important competitor of HP’s Business, but HP’s Chairman himself is using Apple’s Macbook Air 13 inch!

I really don’t know what he is trying to convey, but I really can’t believe he even allow this picture to be taken and posted on reuters. At least now we are sure Ray Lane is someone who know what a good computer should look and feel like.

Flying Macbook Air – Lighter than Air [Video]

Many users of Apple’s new Macbook Air are amazed by how light and powerful it is. Having such a portable but powerful laptop is such a dream for everyone. But do you know that Apple’s Macbook Air is actually built for flight? It is so light that it actually wants to fly off.

Don’t believe? Check out the video below:

Apple is now buying back old Macs, iPhone and iPad

Green Apple

Apple is one of the greenest tech companies in the world, they are always pushing their product to be as green as possible. Not just making green products, Apple tries to minmum the CO by reduce weight of shipping weight and reducing carbon footprint. They tries to encourage recycling by recycling all Apple products for free.

Reuse and Recycle

But today Apple pushed recycling to the new limit and launches Reuse and Recycle program. Yes, Apple will buy back workable old Apple or non-Apple product back. They will provide free shipping and free packaging for your old Notebook, Desktop, iPad and iPhone! This is a pretty nice service, although you might be able to get better resale price on ebay or other auction sites, but it can not be easier to sell your products back to Apple.

One important note is that all value of your product will be translated to an Apple Gift Card of the same value. Since it is Apple Gift Card, you will be only able to use in Apple Store or buy Apps/music in Apple’s App Store or iTunes.

So if you have any old Apple products or PC, check out Apple’s Reuse and Recycle Program.

Thunderbolt on Macbook Air is slower than rest of Mac family

The new Macbook Air 2011 have very good overall comments from reviewers and users themselves. Such a thin and light device, but can be as powerful or even more powerful than most 2009 Macbook Pro. Equipped with SSD, lots of every task like launching app, importing photos and browsing the web are super snappy.

Smaller Thunderbolt Chip for Macbook Air 2011

One of the newer addition to the new Macbook Air 2011 is the new thunderbolt port which is not available in the older generation MBA. But don’t let it fool you, this thunderbolt is not the same as the one we see in Macbook Pro 2011, iMac or the new Mac Mini. The Thunderbolt port that is in this new Macbook Air is smaller, featuring only 2 Thunderbolt channels and supports only 1 external display rather than 4 Channels and 2 external display that we see in the rest of the family.

Of course, I doubt this will be a minus point for most user, as 1 external display should be more than enough. Plus the graphics card on Macbook Air will not be able to power up 2 external display, thus there isn’t any reason for Apple to put up a bigger and more power Light Ridge Thunderbolt Chip.

How are you enjoying your Macbook Air? Let us know!

Mac is easier? Don’t believe? Check this out!

Have you ever wonder why Mac users always tell you Mac is easier, Mac is so much better. Honestly, if Macdonald’s thinks Mac is easier, who else won’t think so?

@smalera shared the above twitpic of a configuration guide for Mac donald’s Free Wifi Setup. Looking at the number of steps you need to setup the free wifi, how can you say that Mac is not easier and faster? What’s worse that Windows XP and Vista have very different setup, confusing to the users I’m sure.

New Macbook Air is going to have Backlit Keyboards

Backlit Keyboard coming to Macbook Air?

One of the best loved features of Macbook Pro is the backlit keyboards. Yes, it is a feature that alot of people will forget, but when you need it, you will miss it like crazy! At times when I have to work in a dark room, having backlit keyboards are like having light at the end of the tunnel!

Thus when Macbook Air came out last year, it is one of the best laptop ever built by Apple, because it is so light and so snappy. But backlit keyboard are heavily missed. It has always been a rumor that backlit keyboard will be added back to the next generation Macbook Airs. But with the above leaked photo, it might really be coming to us very soon!

Let’s stay tuned and hope that backlit keyboard will be a new feature in Macbook Air!

Conan’s Team love Apple’s new Final Cut Pro X [Video]

Apple just recently released their new Final Cut Pro X. It is not a update to Final Cut Pro series, it is a total revamped. Due to this total revamp, Final Cut Pro X now look more like iMovie than its previous generation of Final Cut Pro. Yes, Apple rewrote Final Cut Pro X from ground up, but I feel they might have wrote Final Cut Pro X from iMovie up.

Alot of professionals who uses Final Cut Pro have problem adjusting to the new Final Cut Pro X as it seems to have lesser features and less robust than previous gen FCP. The comments they gave was it is actually iMovie Pro X. I have downloaded the FCPX, and used it for awhile, it really feels like iMovie. But it is so much better.

So I feel, Apple is really going to win over 90% of the video editors out there, who are doing short and quick videos for their blogs, commercials, training videos or even Podcast. But Apple will be forgoing the rest of the top 10% of editors who do professional videos like movies and shot films.

But who knows? Give Apple sometimes and let’s see how is the situation 1-2years later. Apple always are open to big changes, and make people change the way they look at things.
