G-Form Extreme Sleeve for Laptop protects Macbook Pro from 20ft drop!

Remember G-Form? They are the guys who built the G-Form iPad sleeve that protects your iPad from a 3ft bowling ball drop on it. Now they also came out with this Laptop Sleeve which protected Macbook Pro 13 inch from a 20feet drop from the balcony!

Pretty impressive har? It not only protect the Macbook Pro from scratch, it also have shock-protection, thus dropping it from a second level balcony cause no harm to it.

iMac 2011 supports 2 external monitor via Thunderbolt ports

If you have read my post on iMac 2011, you would have know that iMac 2011 now have thunderbolt port, and 27 inch have 2 of them! So it means that we can now have 2 external monitor, and have a 3 monitor setup! Pretty cool right? Not only that, iMac 2011 is fast enough to support 3 concurrently playing 1080p video on 3 different monitor. How I wish I can get this 3 monitor setup!

Check out the below video, iMac 2011 27 inch supports 2 external monitor via thunderbolt:

iMac 2011 are fast!

New iMacs are pretty fast! Macworld have done a benchmark on the new iMac 2011 it is faster than all previous iMacs and are almost as fast as Mac Pro 2010. It is just a wonder that you can have such a powerful machine and a 27 inch screen pack together in such a neat package!

Currently there are still no benchmark for SSD Drive yet, I will be very interested to know how much better it will score, as we all know Macbook Air is so much faster just because of SSD. Stay Tuned!

Fake Steve Jobs on Stage for iPhone 5 [Video]

Of course it he is a fake, but it is just interesting to look at a fake Steve Jobs, trying to launch his new iPhone 5.

I’m not sure what’s the purpose of the video, or why are they doing this fake product launch, but it seems to be filmed in a school hall, so it might be a joke for school.

Fox news reports about Apple’s New Data Center [Video]

So is Apple really going to compete in streaming movie service? Many of us are just plain curious what is Apple planning to do which such a huge datacenter when they are really mainly selling hardwares like Macs, iPhones and iPad.

It is rumored that they want to go into movie/TV Streaming service like Netflix which are leading in US market right now. We have no idea, but a company like Apple with so much cash on hand, they can really walk in to any market right now and just dominate.

Check out the report by Fox News:

It sounds like they are building iPad on 1994 [Video]

Ideas don’t just come to us overnight. It seems like people have been looking at tablets even during 1994, and what they have been designing sounds very similar to what we have now in our iPad.

Of course we know that Steve Jobs has been wanting to build iPad from the first day he starts his company, but technology is just now there. All computers are just too bulky and no way to pack them into such a slim device like iPad.  But it is just pure amazing that people has been toying around the idea for so long.

Apple refresh iMac 2011 with quad-core Sandy Bridge, FaceTime HD and Thunderbolt!

iMac 2011 Refresh!

Apple have finally refreshed their iMac line for 2011 with Quad-Core Sandy Bridge Processors, Thunderbolt and FaceTime HD. Of course they also added new AMD Graphics Cards which are reported to be 3 times faster than previous, but the most interesting update is still thunderbolt, and Apple is adding 2 thunderbolt for 27 inch iMac!

So exactly how fast is Thunderbolt? Check out the diagram below:

2 Thunderbolts on 27 inch iMacs!

Thunderbolt is really pretty fast, and although 21.5 iMacs will come with only 1 thunderbolt ports, each port can actually daisy-chain up to 7 devices, which is really impressive. But do note that 27 inch iMacs have 2 thunderbolt ports, which means that you can actually have 14 devices hook up to your iMac!

Of course FaceTime HD is added to all iMacs so you can FaceTime with your fellow iPhone owners or Macbook Pro family. Better graphics cards are added to help in gaming and movie rendering.

What I feel about the upgrades

Overall, I feel it is just an yearly update of processor and graphics, but of course we welcome the newly added Thunderbolt Ports and FaceTime HD! So do check out the new iMac 2011 at Apple.com!

Mac OS Lion handles External Monitor better [video]

Mac OS Lion handle External Monitor on Macbook Pro better!

I’m not sure about how you guys think about how Mac OS Snow Leopard handles external monitor, but I feel they can really improve it. Mac OS Lion handles external monitor way cooler.

On Mac OS Lion, external monitor won’t go to sleep, if you close your Macbook’s lid, it will automatically switch the primary monitor to your external monitor, which is much cooler.

White iPhone 4 is slightly thicker than Black!

Yes, quite a few new owners of White iPhone 4 mentioned that their phone is slightly thicker than black iPhone 4. Look at the above picture, and we can clearly see that it is really thicker, but just by a slight. All iPhone 4 cases are reported to fit nicely to white iPhone 4, so you won’t have to worry about it.

I think white iPhone 4’s plastic is slightly thicker might be due to the light leak issue due to the white case and the iPhone 4’s Flash. Hopefully this solved the light leak issue, because I don’t mind a slightly thicker iPhone 4 than light leak photos from my iPhone
