Funny Organizational Chart for Apple, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Oracle

Funny Org Chart for Technology Companies like Apple and Facebook.

Yes, Although it looks like a just for fun organizational hierarchy chart from bonkersworld. But this chart is drawn up with understanding or at least some understanding of how the technology company operate.

Apple is a one man company

Just look at how Apple’s Org chart is, is it centered around 1 man, and branched out as a company. Honestly this is how everyone feels that Apple is being run. We are pretty sure most of the products need to be approved and reviewed by Steve Jobs before its product launch. So he is the man.

Microsoft kills its own product

Microsoft have departments building products that will kill another product they are building. Products like kin when already have Windows Phone 7.

Google is a 3 man team

Google has been a 3 man team for quite a while, with its 2 founders and their CEO running the company. Although things have change slightly, but I doubt the influence have changed.

Facebook has no structure?

Honestly, I don’t know about Facebook’s Company’s Structure, or should I say no one understand it clearly yet. Thus this kind of chart was drawn?

Oracle buy and buy company.

For the past years, Oracle has transformed from a Database Empire to a Buying Empire. They have been buying and buying tech company non-stop. So that’s why they need such a strong legal team?

Are the charts similar to your view on how the company is being managed now. Tell us what you think!

Conan’s Team love Apple’s new Final Cut Pro X [Video]

Apple just recently released their new Final Cut Pro X. It is not a update to Final Cut Pro series, it is a total revamped. Due to this total revamp, Final Cut Pro X now look more like iMovie than its previous generation of Final Cut Pro. Yes, Apple rewrote Final Cut Pro X from ground up, but I feel they might have wrote Final Cut Pro X from iMovie up.

Alot of professionals who uses Final Cut Pro have problem adjusting to the new Final Cut Pro X as it seems to have lesser features and less robust than previous gen FCP. The comments they gave was it is actually iMovie Pro X. I have downloaded the FCPX, and used it for awhile, it really feels like iMovie. But it is so much better.

So I feel, Apple is really going to win over 90% of the video editors out there, who are doing short and quick videos for their blogs, commercials, training videos or even Podcast. But Apple will be forgoing the rest of the top 10% of editors who do professional videos like movies and shot films.

But who knows? Give Apple sometimes and let’s see how is the situation 1-2years later. Apple always are open to big changes, and make people change the way they look at things.

Mac Developers: If you did not attend WWDC2011, you can now download the videos.

As usual, Apple will hold their World Wide Developer Conference every year, and without fail, they will post the videos records during the conference up for download. Although the videos are only made available for Mac Developers, but this is greatly helpful, especially those developers we did not make it to the conference itself.

I’m sure with all the videos, developers can learn more about the up coming iOS 5 and Lion OS with ease. So check out the videos from WWDC 2011 here. Videos can be either downloaded to iTunes, or stream via Safari and I’m sure you can watch them via iPad or iPhones.

Apple’s new patent might earn them money from every smartphone out there. [Video]

Nilay Patel from Thisismynext walked through with us what is the new Apple patent all about. And how with this patent, Apple might be able to earn money from any smartphone ever made.

Yes, Apple patented the technology of a “web browser” type of app, which is touch screen. If you are able to scroll using 1 finger, but still able to pinch and zoom using 2 finger on a embed frame like google map. Then this technology is patented by Apple. To be honest, I cannot rememeber which smartphone I have seen for the past 2 years which can’t do that.

Thus Apple might be making money with this patent on virtually any smartphone out in the market. Check out the video below to see how using a mobile browser might by using apple’s patented technology.

Apple updated Time Capsules to 3TB

The long awaited refresh for Time Capsules and Airport Extreme is finally here. But it was a disappointing one. Apple only added 1TB more on the new Time Capsule, nothing else has been change. Airport Extreme have no changes at all, not even price. This is one of my most disappointed refresh ever.

Time Capsule and Airport Extreme have been around for quite some time. I thought if Apple have nothing to update on the 2 accessories, they should have reduce the price as network technology from Airport Extreme is not the newest anymore. So I assume producing it will be much cheaper over time too.

Nevertheless, if you are interested in purchasing a new Time Capsule, you now can buy the 3TB Time Capsule at USD$499.

Apple launched Final Cut Pro X today!

From Apple’s Press Release:

Apple Revolutionizes Video Editing With Final Cut Pro X

CUPERTINO, California—June 21, 2011—Apple® today announced Final Cut Pro® X, a revolutionary new version of the world’s most popular Pro video editing software which completely reinvents video editing with a Magnetic Timeline that lets you edit on a flexible, trackless canvas; Content Auto-Analysis that categorizes your content upon import by shot type, media and people; and background rendering that allows you to work without interruption. Built on a modern 64-bit architecture, Final Cut Pro X is available from the Mac® App Store™ for $299.99.

“Final Cut Pro X is the biggest advance in Pro video editing since the original Final Cut Pro,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We have shown it to many of the world’s best Pro editors, and their jaws have dropped.”

“I’m blown away by what Apple has done with Final Cut Pro,” said Angus Wall, Academy Award-winning film editor. “Final Cut Pro X is incredibly modern and fast, but most importantly it lets you focus on telling your story in the most creative way, while it actively manages all of the technical details.”

At the heart of Final Cut Pro X is the Magnetic Timeline, a trackless approach to editing your footage that lets you add and arrange clips wherever you want them, while other clips instantly slide out of the way. You can use Clip Connections to link primary story clips to other elements like titles and sound effects, so they stay in perfect sync when you move them. You can even combine related story elements into a Compound Clip that can be edited as a single clip. The groundbreaking new Auditions feature lets you swap between a collection of clips to instantly compare alternate takes.

Content Auto-Analysis scans your media on import and tags your content with useful information. Final Cut Pro X then uses that information to dynamically organize your clips into Smart Collections, so you can easily find the clips you want by close up, medium and wide shots as well as media type and the number of people in the shot. You can also tag parts of clips with Range-based keywords to add custom search criteria to your media.

Completely rebuilt from the ground up, Final Cut Pro X is a 64-bit app that takes full advantage of the latest Mac hardware and software so you never have to wait for the next edit, even if you’re working with 4K video. Final Cut Pro X uses multi-threaded processing and the GPU on your graphics card for blazing fast background rendering and superb real-time playback performance. Additionally, a ColorSync-managed color pipeline ensures color consistency from import to output.

Final Cut Pro X also includes powerful tools for audio editing and color correction, and is complemented by two companion apps, Motion 5 for professional motion graphics and Compressor 4 for advanced media encoding, available from the Mac App Store for $49.99 each.

Pricing & Availability
Final Cut Pro X is available today for $299.99 from the Mac App Store. Motion 5 and Compressor 4 are available today for $49.99 each from the Mac App Store. Full system requirements and more information on Final Cut Pro X can be found at www.apple.com/finalcutpro.

Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and has recently introduced iPad 2 which is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices.

Thoughts?

I’m excited. I was never a fan of the old Final Cut Pro UI, maybe because I started with iMovie, so I kind of got used to it. Now Final Cut Pro X looks very similar to iMovie, the UI, the way it works. To have a preview of what Final Cut Pro X looks like, Check out my previous blog post.

Apple back to School is not giving out iPod Touch but $100 iTunes Gift Card

Apple’s Back to School Promo

Apple support students by having Back to School Promotion yearly, giving special discounts to all Mac Hardwares like iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. Of course not just discount, but Apple used to give out free iPod Touches, but this year they are not giving out any. But don’t feel disappointed, Apple are giving out $100 iTunes Gift Cards to all students. Yes, you might feel you are short-changed as we used to get $200+ iPod Touches for free, but now only getting $100 iTunes Gift Cards.

Why iTunes Gift Cards?

I think that Apple’s decision to give out iTunes Gift Cards is good, although many people will argue otherwise. But from my point of view, which student don’t have iPod or iPhone already? Those that yet to have, might not be interested to have one. That aside, to help students with their school, iPod Touch might not be that useful. But do you know that iTunes Gift Card can be use not only to buy music from iTunes, but Apps from App Store, yes Mac App Store too. So students can buy useful Apps from Mac App Store for note taking, mind mapping or software like iWorks for documentations. Other than App Store and iTunes, students can buy iBooks from iBookStore which is pretty useful.

How about $150?

So overall, I feel that iTunes Gift Cards as a giveaway for Back to School Promotion, I feel is a very very good idea. But I hope Apple can increase the amount from $100 to $150! Yes, $50 might not seems alot, but to a student, he/she can buy the whole iWorks suite of softwares, or other cool apps. We are not sure if students in Singapore are getting iTunes Gift Cards too, as nothing has been announced. We will post a update once we got any news.
